Rubric

Each question in the quiz is worth 5 points for a total of 20 points. Students get half a point for every district and product they can correctly identify. Grading for the quiz is based on the following scale:

5-- The student answers all aspects of the question. They make accurate and relevant references to the book. The response goes beyond the information given by the book and demonstrates that the student has thought about the question and answered accordingly. Where opinions are appropriate, the student provides theirs and gives reasoning. Finally, the response is clear and focused with very few spelling and grammar mistakes.

4-- The student addresses almost all aspects of the question. They reference the facts in the book but fail to go any deeper than that. The students might state their opinion but not explain their reasoning. The answer has some spelling and grammar mistakes.

3-- References to the book are extremely general. Several aspects of the question might be ignored. The answer displays no analysis or reasoning on the student's part. The answer is clear but contains several spelling and/or grammar mistakes.

2-- The answer is difficult to understand and contains several spelling and grammar mistakes. The response does not reference the book, but does contain an answer to the question. The student fails to demonstrate an understanding of the material.

1-- The answer is inappropriate to the question asked. The student does not reference the book. The answer includes numerous mistakes and is poorly written and difficult to understand.

0-- The student made no attempt to answer the question.
